If the plan does not work, change the plan, not the goal.
Thank You! With Your Help, We Made the Goal a Reality
Because of your support, Awareness Through Aesthetics was a huge success even during a pandemic! Human trafficking has not taken pause in spite of recent events. In fact, as people may have become more financially vulnerable, the risk of exploitation has increased. Also, as North Carolina children are moving to remote learning, the risk of internet crimes against children increases.
Together, we made a bigger impact.
Thank you for your commitment to combating human trafficking. Because of you, Designed for Joy and Shield North Carolina were able to immediately respond to the unique challenges that were brought on because of shelter in place orders.
There’s still much to do!
Please continue to fight human trafficking by purchasing from Designed for Joy and joining their mailing list. Learn more about human trafficking by signing up for a training through Shield North Carolina and learning how you can bring awareness and prevention to your community.
If you won a silent auction or raffle basket, please keep your eyes on your email as we work with winners to coordinate local pick-up!
Human trafficking is happening right here in the Triangle. Every day we unknowingly walk past someone who is at risk of being exploited, being manipulated into an aspect of human trafficking, or is involved in trafficking another human being.
Many local aesthetic entrepreneurs, providers, and leaders have joined in collaboration to host a virtual event, Awareness Through Aesthetics.
The hope of this event is to raise awareness on this issue and funds to help support two local non-profits that work to improve the lives of those affected by human trafficking and who are at risk – the two non-profits that have been chosen are Designed For Joy and Shield NC.
Will you join us?
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
—Margaret Mead, American Cultural Anthropologist

While we had planned to take this event right to the heart of Raleigh’s transportation hub, Union Station, a stunning venue that connects Raleigh to the rest of the world, we had to redirect those plans in light of COVID-19. We’ll now be gathering digitally to support the work of two local non-profit organizations who are championing the fight against trafficking, Designed for Joy and Shield NC.
